Helping You Move Beyond Survival and Toward Lasting healing

Healing isn't about pretending the past didn't happen, it's about finding the freedom to move forward.

Meet Alexis

Healing isn't about pretending the past didn't happen, it's about finding the freedom to move forward.

I created N'ganga Therapy & Wellness because I know what it feels like to live in survival mode. Growing up in a single parent home while navigating childhood trauma and complex family dynamics, I experienced firsthand how deeply our past can shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.

Through my own journey, I learned something life changing: healing is possible.

Today, now licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, it's my privilege to help others discover that same hope.

My passion is creating a safe, compassionate space where people can share the thoughts, emotions, and experiences they've never felt safe to say out loud, without fear of judgment. Together, we'll work toward lasting healing, healthier relationships, and the freedom to fully live.

Because you were never meant to carry life's hardest moments alone.

My Approach

I Believe Therapy Should Be Deeply Personal.

As a boutique therapy practice, I intentionally offer highly personalized, trauma-informed care so every client feels seen, heard, and supported throughout their healing journey. My goal isn't simply to help you cope with life's challenges, it's to help you understand them, heal from them, and move forward with greater confidence and hope.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, life transitions, or relationship challenges, you'll find a safe place where your story matters and your healing is the priority.

My Personal Life

While my role as a therapist is important, the people I love shape who I am even more.

I'm first and foremost a wife, a mother to two little girls, and a former foster parent. My family is my greatest joy and a daily reminder of why breaking generational cycles matters.

As the first person in my family to graduate from high school, earn a bachelor's degree, and complete a master's degree, I understand both the weight of where we've come from and the hope of where we're going. That perspective continues to shape the compassion, perseverance, and hope I bring into every session.

Before opening my private practice, I spent years serving children and families as both a teacher in Dickinson ISD and a school counselor in Clear Creek ISD. Those experiences, along with my own story, continue to influence the way I care for every client who walks through my door.

When I’m Not in the Office

Outside of the therapy office, you'll usually find me traveling with my family, exploring local coffee shops, spending time at the beach, playing pickleball, dancing Zumba or line dancing, hosting game nights, or planning our next adventure, whether that means riding a roller coaster or collecting another passport stamp.

My Christian faith, my family, and a good cup of coffee keep me grounded and remind me to find joy in both the ordinary and the extraordinary.

Testimonials Fom People Like you

Alexis was my daughter’s school counselor. My daughter was battling anxiety over the start of school, making friendships, and welcoming her new baby brother into the household. When I called Alexis and asked her to meet with my daughter, she patiently listened to all my worries and that one phone conversation left me feeling more supportive than words can give credit. Alexis has a gentle way of making you feel seen and heard and not alone. She gave me tools to use in conversation with my daughter, walked me through various scenarios, and helped me navigate struggles — and I was not even her client, my daughter was. She made a weekly plan with my daughter and through each visits my girl started to feel more confident and comfortable at school. Alexis continued to be a safe space for my daughter. I cannot recommend her enough.
